Mary Kay,
Prayers for your spiritual revival have been and will continue to be prayed.
Let me know if there's any other way I can help, too! How is Bob doing? Andy & I have been praying for his health and a complete recovery from the pnuemonia (sp?.)
I know that it's difficult with so many young ones at home. Sometimes, you'll talk to anybody who will have a "grown-up" conversation, even a solicitor! (Yeah, it's that bad...) Keep in mind, Mary Kay, that they grow up so fast. My 'little ones' that had me going in circles are now 23, 21 and 18. *whew!* It just doesn't seem possible.
If we're going to start grouping, I guess we should begin with piety. I'll go first:
Piety: I have been making the time to pray every morning, even if it's just 5 minutes after I hit 'snooze.' I've always been sporadic with prayer, and my prayers have typically been for thanskgiving rather than supplication. However, as I've grown as a Christian I've come to see God's relationship with me as more and more a parent/child relationship. I know that with my own children, I would give them all that's in my power to give as long as it's good for them.
I also know that God sees my heart, but it was recently put to me that prayer without effort won't go far. A dear friend once told me that I should pray for opportunities rather than patience, as the Lord will give me plenty of practice with patience if that's what I want to exercise. So a few years ago, I stopped praying for patience and started praying for opportunities. (Thanks, Joan!)
Well, I've been getting some professional opportunities that are wonderful but oh so stressful as well. The old adage of "Be careful what you wish (or pray) for," is certainly true! Please pray for me that I have the confidence I need to pull these things off.
Love, Sarah
